Baranja (sometimes spelt Baranya) is a region that straddles Hungary and Croatia – in between the Danube and Drava rivers. The name itself means Marshland, which is not quite the state of the land any more; athough you will find some swampland around Baranja.
Having grown up in the Croatian Baranja and then moving to the Hungarian part, before moving to France, Spain, and now England, it’s a big part of my life. My site is dedicated to the things you can see and do in Hungary and Croatia, along with some exciting tidbits about Baranja. If you have any questions about the region or are planning to visit then I would really like to hear from you. Please be aware that English isn’t my first language so any comments about my writing style will be ignored (I’m doing my best)! You can contact me here.
Thanks for visiting!
